    The bacterium Neisseria meningitidis which causes meningococcal meningitis. The microorganism responsible for cerebrospinal fever.

    The commonest epidemic form of meningitis, caused by a bacterium Neisseria meningitidis, where the meninges become inflamed causing headaches and fever.
