  • Pseudoword

    A string of letters that can be pronounced by literate people but has no meaning. The ability to read and pronounce pseudowords is impaired in people who have difficulty reading, e.g., children with dyslexia or some adults with brain damage or stroke.  

  • Pseudotuberculosis

    A group of diseases that resemble tuberculosis but are due to an organism other than the tubercle bacillus. In humans the most common cause is Yersinia pseudotuberculosis, a gram-negative organism.  

  • Pseudotruncus arteriosus

    The severest form of tetralogy of Fallot.  

  • Pseudotetanus

    Persistent muscular contractions resembling tetanus.  

  • Pseudotabes

    A neural disease simulating tabes dorsalis.  

  • Pseudostoma

    An apparent opening or window between endothelial cells that have been stained.  

  • Pseudostenosis

    Something that mimics stenosis; a condition that gives the false impression of an obstruction or narrowing, e.g., in a blood vessel, valve, or the spinal canal.  

  • Pseudosmia

    An olfactory hallucination or perversion of the sense of smell.  

  • Pseudosclerosis

    A condition with the symptoms, but without the lesions, of multiple sclerosis of the nervous system. A condition with symptoms similar to multiple sclerosis impacts the nervous system. This inherited degenerative disease is not clearly defined but is characterized by the gradual onset of tremors, rigidity, and cognitive deterioration. A diagnostic indicator is the appearance…

    A septic febrile condition with a rash resembling scarlatina.
