  • Pseudoreaction

    A false reaction; a response to injection of a test substance into the tissues owing to the presence of an allergen other than one for which the test is made.  

  • Precocious pseudopuberty

    Feminization of a young girl due to enhanced estrogen production, but ovulation and cyclic menstruation are absent. Estrogen-secreting tumors of the ovary are the usual cause. Treatment is removal of the tumor.  

  • Pseudoptosis

    Apparent ptosis of the eyelid, resulting from a fold of skin or fat projecting below the edge of the eyelid.  

  • Pseudopterygium

    A scar on the conjunctiva of the eye that is firmly attached to the underlying tissue.  

  • Pseudo-pseudohypoparathyroidism

    Pseudohypoparathyroidism in which most of the clinical but none of the biochemical changes are present.  

  • Pseudopolyp

    A hypertrophied area of mucous membrane resembling a polyp.  

  • Pseudophyphae

    Filamentous fungal structures, that resemble hyphae.  

  • Pseudophyllidea

    An order belonging to the class Cestoidea, subclass Cestoda. It includes tapeworms with scolices bearing two lateral (or one terminal) sucking grooves (bothria) and includes Diphyllobothrium latum, the fish tapeworm of humans.  

  • Pseudoparaplegia

    A seeming paralysis of the lower extremities without impairment of the reflexes.  

  • Pseudoparalysis

    A loss of movement caused by the pain and inflammation of a localized injury, an infection, or a factitious disorder, rather than caused by a nerve injury or stroke.
