Liquid Facelifts: How Fillers Offer a Less-Invasive Solution

Modern medicine can help us stay alive and feel better for longer as we age. Now, it can also keep us looking younger longer, too, by using the latest youth-giving look called a liquid facelift.

Liquid facelifts use Perlane, Juvederm, Restylane, and Radiesse to reduce or eliminate wrinkles in the face and neck without the use of surgery. Or you can use the technique of the liquid facelift to put off having a surgical facelift. Some people use a combination of the liquid facelift and surgery to keep them looking their best.

The number of women using non-surgical methods to remove their wrinkles and skin lines has drastically risen the last 10-15 years. Men, also, have increased their use of liquid facelifts to stay young-looking since these techniques became available in about the year 2000. The advertisements for these injections and procedures are everywhere in modern media.

Two basic methods get used most often to reduce the lines and wrinkles in your face. These two methods work well and don’t take a lot of time to get. Fillers get injected to add collagen to wrinkled areas, filling the lines with volume that plump up areas in the face. Botox works differently. It paralyzes the facial muscles, which smooths out lines and wrinkles in your face.

Initially, only two types of fillers existed. Zyderm and Zyplast collagen fillers required testing to ensure that you weren’t allergic to the product. And, unfortunately, the results of using these products only lasted for up to three months.

Now, many types of fillers have become available. These fillers are safer, and their wrinkle-reducing effects last longer than did previous methods of removing wrinkles. These fillers frequently contain hyaluronic acid.

Restylane and Juvederm

Hyaluronic acid is an engineered, sugar-based produced that can get regularly injected to remove the fine lines and wrinkles in your face. These newer innovations in cosmetic treatments last for as long as six months on average.

Two of these products include Restylane and Juvederm. Both products are used routinely with a high level of success. Doctors using these two products, especially Juvederm, have noticed that Juvederm lasts longer and doesn’t produce lumps in the skin. These benefits make it a more-user friendly treatment for both cosmetic providers and their patients. One of the latest types of hyaluronic acids that have been recently developed is Restylane. All of these treatments for wrinkles are FDA approved.

Radiesse

Radiesse remains another treatment option. It consists of hydroxyapatite, which is similar to the same mineral as that found in our bones. Because the product remains quite durable, it also lasts significantly longer than do other types of fillers. Radiesse may keep your face from developing lines for up to one year. This product works best in the superficial dermis, as it tends to show through the skin.

Botox

Botox works quite well to treat crow’s feet, vertical face, and necklines in your forehead between your eyebrows, and the horizontal lines on your forehead. Botox works by paralyzing your facial muscles. Facial muscles that animate our facial expressions can show their unique lines. Botox treats these animation lines better than do fillers.

The Liquid Facelift

Combining Botox and facial fillers add up to a liquid facelift. This ingenious method of keeping the face smooth remains a frequent choice of people who want smoother skin without having surgery. Injections can get placed under a droopy eyebrow, underneath eye bags, or at the corner of a saggy mouth or jowl. Liquid facelifts can also camouflage droopy cheeks, nasolabial folds, and lines around your mouth.

Both Botox and fillers work in different parts of your face to give you the best smoothing results possible. Botox works well to provide a liquid brow lift and open the eyes without surgery. It also improves smoothness in the neck muscles to lessen the looks of vertical necklines and sagging.

Comparing the Liquid Face Lift and Cosmetic Surgery

While nothing removes facial wrinkles as well as cosmetic surgery and a facelift, using a combination of fillers and Botox can come very close to the same results. Cosmetic surgery and surgical facelifts can improve the deep lines and wrinkles in your face. Plus, the results of a cosmetic surgery facelift last for years. But you may not want to have surgery. You may not have the time needed to recover from a surgical facelift. Whether you’re avoiding pain or don’t want to have surgery, it’s a great idea to look into having a liquid facelift.

The results of a liquid facelift last longer than do previous types of fillers. The drawback is that you’ll need to have some of these injections repeated every six months to a year. But there remain many benefits to using the liquid facelift to improve your looks. You can rejuvenate the look of your eyes, cheeks, and neck without undergoing surgery. You’ll have little to no downtime. Plus, the procedures only take an hour or so to complete. The results of a liquid facelift come reasonably close to that of a surgical facelift, too.

So talk to your cosmetic doctor today to see if a liquid facelift will give you the results you desire.
