    Almond joyful hot cocoa recipe

    There are few things more comforting than a warm mug of cocoa before bedtime, and few ingredients more slumber-friendly than almond milk. Almonds are a rich source of magnesium, a mineral that contributes to a good night’s sleep. The relaxing and soothing effect of warm milk made from ground almonds mixed with cocoa powder will help you fall asleep softly and soundly. Better than a sleeping pill.

    • Yield: 1 Servings

    Ingredients

    • 2 rounded teaspoons unsweetened cocoa powder
    • 1 level teaspoon sugar, or to taste
    • 1 cup almond milk
    • Whipped cream (optional)
    How to Make It
    1. Combine the cocoa powder and sugar in your favorite cup. Place the almond milk in a small saucepan over medium heat until it is hot, not quite to a boil.
    2. Add just a few tablespoons of the hot milk into the cocoa mix, and stir into a smooth paste with a wooden spoon. Gradually add the remainder of the milk and continue stirring until fully incorporated.
    3. Froth with an immersion blender until creamy and foamy. Top with whipped cream if desired.
