    Apple fritters recipe

    • Yield: 8 Servings

    Ingredients

    • 4 apples
    • ⅔ cups flour
    • 1 egg
    • ½ cup sugar
    • 2 teaspoons baking powder
    • ½ cup vinsanto or white wine
    • Salt
    • Extra-virgin olive oi
    • Vegetable oil for frying
    • Powdered sugar for dusting
    How to Make It
    1. Combine the flour, egg, baking powder, a pinch of salt and 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large mixing bowl. Add the white wine and a bit of water. Knead into a dough, and set aside for at least 30 minutes.
    2. Peel the apples and remove the core. Cut the apple into slices, and put them in the dough for a couple of minutes.
    3. In a separate skillet, warm a generous amount of oil and fry the apple slices until golden on both sides.
    4. Remove the apples from the oil and drain on paper towels. Set aside to cool, and serve sprinkled with powdered sugar.
