    Creamy wild rice pilaf recipe

    Paired with roasted chicken or broiled salmon and steamed broccoli, this earthy jeweled pilaf is an easy side dish for a colorful meal.

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup wild rice, rinsed and drained
    • 1 cup regular brown rice
    • 1 (10¾-ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom with roasted garlic or condensed golden mushroom soup
    • 1 cup sliced fresh mushroom
    • 1 cup shredded carrots
    • ½ cup sliced celery
    • 1/3 cup chopped onion
    • ¼ cup snipped dried apricots
    • 1 tsp dried thyme, crushed
    • 1 tsp poultry seasoning
    • ¾ tsp salt
    • ½ tsp pepper
    • 5½ cups water
    • ½ cup dairy sour cream
    How to Make It
    1. Combine uncooked wild rice, uncooked brown rice, soup, mushrooms, carrots, celery, onion, apricots, thyme, poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper in a 3½ or 4 quart slow cooker. Stir in water.
    2. Cover; cook on low-heat setting for 7 to 8 hours or on high-heat setting for 3½ to 4 hours. Stir in sour cream and serve.
