Glazed apples in caramel sauce recipe

This no-fuss treat comes together in minutes. The sauce, made of butter, apple juice, and a homemade caramel sauce, reduces while the apples bake, creating a velvety glaze. Make extra Caramel Sauce, and store it in the refrigerator to serve over pound cake or ice cream later in the week.

    • Yield: 4 Servings
    • Preparation Time: 6 Minutes
    • Cooking Time: 45 Minutes

    Ingredients

    • 4 Granny Smith apples, peeled and cored
    • 2⁄3 cup no-sugar-added apple juice
    • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
    • Caramel Sauce
    How to Make It
    1. Preheat oven to 375°.
    2. Cut each apple horizontally into 5 slices. Reassemble each apple, and place in an 11 x 7–inch baking dish. Combine apple juice and melted butter; pour over apples. Bake, uncovered, at 375° for 45 minutes or until apples are tender, basting with juices every 15 minutes.
    3. Place an apple stack on each of 4 individual serving plates. Pour ¼ cup Caramel Sauce into center of each stack, allowing sauce to flow over sides. Serve immediately.
