How to Make Bacon Brussels Sprouts

Big 15 ketogenic dietThese Brussels sprouts are my go-to side dish whenever I want something delicious but easy. My whole family enjoys them and I try to make them whenever we gather together for any kind of potluck lunch or dinner. My husband and I absolutely love really crispy Brussels sprouts and always order them any time we see them on a menu; we have an ongoing collection of favorites, but (happily) my own recipe has managed to stay on the list.

    • Yield: 4 Servings
    • Preparation Time: 5 Minutes
    • Cooking Time: 20 Minutes

    Ingredients

    • 2 bacon slices
    • 2 cups Brussels sprouts, halved
    • Salt
    • Freshly ground black pepper
    • 1 tablespoon butter
    How to Make It
    1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the bacon for about 5 minutes or until crispy. Transfer to a paper towel–lined plate to drain; leave the bacon fat in the skillet.
    2. Add the Brussels sprouts to the hot bacon fat in the skillet. Cook over medium-high heat for about 15 minutes until they get golden brown and crispy. Season with salt and pepper.
    3. Add the butter and cook for 2 to 3 minutes more, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
    4. While the Brussels sprouts cook, cut the bacon into bite-size pieces. Serve the sprouts hot, topped with the bacon.
