    How to Make Baked Apples

    Simple, Fresh & Healthy A Collection of Seasonal RecipesAbsolutely simple, fresh, and healthy!

    • Yield: 4 Servings

    Ingredients

    • 4 apples (such as Northern Spy or Ida Red)
    • ½ cup raisins
    • ¼ cup chopped walnuts
    • ¼ cup maple syrup or brown sugar
    • ½ cup apple cider, apple juice, or water
    How to Make It
    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
    2. Core and peel a strip around the middle of each apple to prevent from bursting in the oven.
    3. Stuff raisins and walnuts into the center of each apple.
    4. If using maple syrup, drizzle into the core of each apple. If using brown sugar, divide evenly among the 4 apples and sprinkle over filling.
    5. Place the apples upright in an 8-by-8-inch baking dish. Pour the apple cider, apple juice, or water into bottom of the pan.
    6. Bake for about 45 minutes or until apples are very soft when pierced with a fork.
