The Kitchen Diva's Diabetic Cookbook 150 Healthy, Delicious RecipesI love the spice and texture of these whole-whet pita chips alone or with one of the dips in the chapter. Making them at home is easy, and it saves money, and allows you to control the ingredients.

    • Yield: 24 Chips

    Ingredients

    • 3 whole-wheat pita breads, each cut into 8 triangles
    • Olive oil cooking spray
    • 1 teaspoon chili powder
    • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
    • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    • ½ teaspoon ground coriander
    • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
    • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
    • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
    • 0.12 teaspoon salt
    How to Make It
    1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spread the pita triangles on a baking sheet and spray on both sides with cooking oil spray. Combine all the remaining ingredients in a large bowl and stir well to blend. Add the pita wedges and toss to coat. Spread the seasoned chips in a single layer on the baking sheet and sprinkle with any remaining spice mix.
    2. Bake for about 15 minutes, tossing once, or until the chips are brown and crisp. Cool completely before serving. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks.
