No matter who you are and what your drug of choice is, sobriety is tough for anyone who has a problem with addiction. Going through the recovery process can be hard. Even after detox, the work continues. After you’ve gotten through the toughest part and you’re simply ready to live a good life, it can all feel overwhelming and uncertain. The future is daunting, but that’s why you approach it one day at a time.

Travel to New Places

One great way to feel full of wonder and excitement is to travel. It is a great substitute for drugs and alcohol. Seeing the world sober is like seeing things for the first time. Find beautiful places in your city, state, or around the world to find a new perspective, experience new cultures, and have experiences with people you never thought you would get along with. 

Take hikes in the forest, find local music to listen to, take photographs of the amazing things you see, and bring a friend while you’re at it!. Traveling to somewhere new when you are going through the process of addiction recovery can give you the motivation to keep going and enjoy your life.

Keep a Gratitude Journal

A gratitude journal is a great way to stay positive and keep in mind all that you have in life. Learn How to Do or Make Something New

It also means getting away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. Sun provides vitamin D that strengthens your immune system. Exercise makes us feel happier and healthier.
