    Kalimantan Mango (Kasturi Mango) is the typical tropical plant which is from Borneo with its Latin name Mangifera casturi. Because of deforestation, this plant is difficult to found in the Borneo forest. As this plant is going to become extinct, it has entered into the red list of IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature). It means the plant is found only in the area of conservation not in natural habitat.

    Health Benefits of Kalimantan Mango

    The Kasturi fruit is small in size with the delicious taste and fragrant aroma. Along with the good taste, it has various health benefits:

    1. Rich in vitamins

    The musk of the fruits is loaded with Vitamin C, E and A. Vitamin C helps to prevent the diseases and canker sores. Vitamin A helps to maintain eye health. It is rich in potassium as well which helps to function the organs properly, maintains blood pressure and contraction bibs. Vitamin E helps to maintain the healthy skin.

    2. Maintaining skin health

    Due to the presence of high antioxidants, it helps to eliminate the free radicals and protects skin from air pollution. The presence of AHA (alpha hydroxyl acid) which is found in the fruit skin musk helps in skin rejuvenation and speeds up the dead skin cells exfoliation.

    3. Preventing cancer

    Musk of the Kalimantan Mango helps to prevent from cancer. The Kalimantan Mango also possess the compounds such as astragalin, kuersentin, gallic acid, filsetin and metilgallat.

    The sour taste is derived from the Khususnyaa citric acid in the fruit musk. Kalimantan Mango has the acid composition of 0.31% to 0.71%. The combination of sweet and sour taste helps to trigger the appetite increased.

    Kalimantan Mango possess the minerals such as magnesium, potassium, zinc, selemium, iron, phosphorus, copper and manganese. In comparison to the vitamin levels, the presence of mineral is less.
