    Romaine lettuce facts

    Romaine is a lettuce which possesses an elongated heads. Romaine has more volume and is nutritious in comparison to iceberg. The sturdy leaves have a firm rib down in their centers. The inner leaves are delicate and pale in color. It is also included in Caesar salads. As it is believed to be originated in the Aegean island of Cos, it is also known as Cos lettuce.
