    • What more to expect from the treatment

The harm caused by your addiction does not end with you. It affects every aspect of your life, including your family, your relationships, your work, your mental health. Treatment should be able to find the root cause of your addiction because it is essential to know why in the first place, you got addicted. • Going to rehab is not the only solution

There is a misconception about recovery from a drug and alcohol addiction that you would end up in rehab, and you would be caged. But this is not the case for everyone. Many factors decide what kind of treatment you need, such as your age, your previous drug use history, and your medical condition.

What are the drug and alcohol triggers?

Recovery is a long process, and it needs your patients and willpower. It takes time for your brain to adjust all the changes that happened during the process of recovery. This is the time you need to be aware of and always have to be on your guard. The cravings for drugs or alcohol can be very intense during this period. Once you lose control, all the efforts you have put into the recovery will be gone. But by avoiding the things that trigger your urge, you can complete the process and start a new life:

    • Do not go near bars and clubs

Try to stay away as much as possible from bars and clubs. Drugs are easily accessible at these places, and there is a big chance of relapsing. You should avoid any kind of environment that triggers your urge to use drugs or alcohol.

    Dealing with cravings of consumption

    • Talk

Cravings are nothing to be ashamed of. You should talk to your friends and family about your urge, and that helps.

    • Write your thoughts

When you are in the recovery process, make a list of all the pros and cons of drug or alcohol use. It will always remind you what you have to lose every time you urge to use it.

    Protecting from relapses

There is nothing to be afraid of and ashamed about relapses. Relapses do happen during the recovery process. But there are  ways you can avoid relapses:

    • Getting close to nature

Nature has the healing powers that nothing else can have. Have a regular morning walk, go camping, and try to do other activities in nature.

    • Take good care of your health

The healthier you are both physically and mentally longer; you can stay sober. Have a daily exercise routine that will help you reduce your stress levels.

These above-mentioned tips help you start a new life. Remember, if you are not an addict, but someone in your family or your friend circle is, then the only thing they expect from you is your support. Drugs and alcohol addiction is ruining lives and families.  Providing a safe and secure environment for addicts can be an excellent step to eradicate this evil thing from our society.
