    Sausage benefits and precautions

    Sausage is made from the grounded meat of pork, veal or beef by adding salt, breadcrumbs and spices. It is made from intestine. It could be barbecued, broiled and pan-fried. It is preserved by curing, smoking, drying and freezing. It is also preserved by salting organs and tissues such as organ meats, fat, blood and scraps which would be stuffed into tubular casings that is made with the clean intestines and is cylindrical in shape.

    Sausage are manufactured before two thousand years and still known to the industry. The industry is using the new technologies to process the sausage. It has become a vital diet for the twenty years. In Greek play that was written in 500 B.C., this meat food was called “The Sausage or Orya”. It was favorite among Romans which was well-known at the time of occasions. The word “sausage” was derived from the Latin word salsus. The people who live in a particular area make their own form or type of sausage.

    Types of Sausages

    1. Cooked sausage

    This sausage is prepared with the use of fresh meat which is fully cooked. It is not consumed immediately. It should be refrigerated and reheated for consumption. For example: Veal sausage, Braunschweiger and Liver sausage.

    1. Cooked smoked sausage

    It is similar to cooked sausage but usually cooked, smoked and smoke cooked. It is consumed cold or hot and also stored in refrigerator. For example: Kielbasa, Wieners and Bologna.

    1. Fresh sausage

    The sausage which is prepared from meats but not cured previously. It is refrigerated and cooked before consumption. For example: Fresh Beef sausage, Italian Pork sausage and British Banger.

    1. Fresh Smoked sausage

    It is the fresh sausage which has been smoked. The smoked sausage is then refrigerated and cooked before consumption. For example: Roumanian and Mettwurst sausage.

    1. Dry sausage

    It is very complicated because the process of drying should be carefully handled. It is readily consumed and refrigerated for long period of time. For example: Summer sausage and Salami.

    One serving of fresh cooked sausage provides 53.33% of Vitamin D, 35.83% of Vitamin B12, 34.37% of total lipid fat, 23.33% of sodium, 22.81% of histidine, 22.25% of isoleucine, 20.66% of lysine, 20.12% of valine, 19.66% of threonine, 17.37% of leucine, 17.09% of zinc, 15.66% of protein, 11.59% of tryptophan and 10.38% of Vitamin B6.

    Sausage is the meat processed which is consumed like the breakfast salads. The health benefits provided by the moderate amounts of sausage are:

    1. Maintain cells

    Vitamin helps to maintain various cells in the body. Vitamin B12 is essential for the proper functions such as repair, formation and maintenance of red blood cells. This vitamin helps to maintain the health of nerve cells. It maintains the strong nervous system.

    2. Prevents fatigue

    It provides relief from the weakness and fatigue. It promotes the stamina of the body to treat work pressure.
